Ocean Star Productions began as a small recording enterprise early in 2005, and since then has grown enormously and currently records 50-75 concerts and groups a year. Started and owned by chief engineer Bryan Garris, OSP at first only recorded classical music but has since expanded to jazz, rock, gospel, and other genres.

We specialize in "on-location recording," where we come to you or your venue to record either a live concert or in a recording session similar to a studio. In this way, the sound of the room becomes an integral part of the recording, which we believe is very important for the type of music we record. We are also capable of running live sound as well as recording in tandem with a house system.

OSP also can provide superb CD and DVD authoring and duplication services, as well as full video capture via our network of dedicated videographers. From start to finish, we can provide everything you need to produce high-quality audio and/or video productions.

Our equipment includes some of the finest handmade microphones from Germany, Austria, Russia, and the USA, which include celebrated brands like Schoeps, AKG, Earthworks, and Oktava. We have the capability to record up to 24 tracks live, with more on special request, utilizing one of the standard live-recording machines, an Alesis HD24XR. After the concert we take these tracks and process them for the best possible balance and sound.

Recording engineer Bryan Garris has two degrees in music (in Music Composition and Music Education) and is currently working on a master's in Music Performance. He plays flute and piccolo in two regional symphonies and has performed in Carnegie Hall as a member of the National Wind Ensemble. This background guides his recording philosophies and helps ensure excellent recordings.
